I graduated with a B.S. in an Engineering discipline from a "State U", 4.0 gpa. I got a rather prestigious (in the engineering world anyway) position at a smaller corporation. A couple years later, I'm bored. Engineering is not for me. I read The Economist and Harvard Business Review for fun. I've decided what I want to do is strategy consulting. The question is how to get there. I'm not sure that I've done anything that would impress a top business school enough to get in. I'm considering Stanford's Management Science and Engineering program. With an M.S. there I would probably have a good chance at getting a 2-year analyst position at a good consulting firm, and that would help my case for a top MBA program... right? What does everyone else think? Any advice?

I think you might have a case for a top MBA program right now. 4.0 GPA with an engineering degree (really difficult), and two years work experience at a prestigious position in the engineering world. I think a lot of the top MBA programs would highly consider you.
