I was wondering if engineering would be a good major. Will it be easy to find jobs when I graduate in 2021? I have always loved puzzles and building things and math is my strongest subject so would engineer suit me? I participated in an engineer program at Purdue and I liked it but I do not know what kind of engineer I would like to do. what are good engineer fields? Also, is UTK (Knoxville) a good engineer school? (In State)
UTK has a fine engineering school and would be a great in-state option.
No major can guarantee a job after graduation, but engineering tends to be one of the highest paid. However, it’s also one of the most rigorous. You’ll find lots of videos online about engineering, and the different types of engineering.
Good Luck!
ok thank you for your response. I am curious about engineering but I want to make sure that it will still be a good major in the future. Like I wanted to go into pharmacy when there was a huge need for them before but I later decided against it because I hear there aren’t as many jobs for all the pharmacists now. So, would engineering still be a good career for me? when I graduate in 2021

No one is predicting much change, overall, in engineering employment, over the next 10 years. Career prospects can fluctuate, based on the economy and your choice of major. However, if you do go into engineering, choose the major that’s seems like the best fit for YOU, don’t try to predict the market in 4 years.
