Engineering Acceptances/Rejections

anyone heard from stanford or berkeley mechanical engineering masters?

Nrets - yeah the Stanford letter was crap. Why can't they be half way humane and just start it out with "We regret to inform..." so you can crumple and toss the letter.

As for career fairs, don't feel bad about going job hunting. I have been working for over two years. I'm really glad I went to work rather than straight to school, because I needed time to figure things out and pick a specialty. At first I was mad at myself for not going straight to school, but in my case it was good I took the break.

Accepted to Stanford for MS civil engineering. I can't believe it!!

Accepted to Virginia Tech & Penn State MS Environmental Engineering programs. Rejected from University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Princeton & University of Wisconsin Madison. No word about aid. Anybody else applied to MS Environmental Engineering programs???

good job man, tx

i'm still waiting for my MS Mech E from stanford =(

I'm with you there man. Feels like mech eng is the last of all the engineering degrees, dunno why.

Cause it's mech e. I didn't even know mech e's went to grad school. Ok I'm mean. Only kidding.

ace sarcasm, I wish I would have gotten more of it into my SOP

did any one hear from colleges for nuclear engineering PhD?

Accepted to University of Wisconsin - Madison for Industrial and Systems Engineering Masters

Accepted to the PhD Mechanical Engineering Programs at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Maryland
Invited to visit NC State and Georgia Tech

congrats! tx2000... which civil program did you apply to and what's your stats?
I am also waiting for stanford MS civil

Accepted to UCSD MS Structural Engineering

Rejected by caltech. F me.

militarythreat, my brother has already received his acceptance from Texas A&M for PhD in Nuclear Engineering. But he is still waiting to hear from MIT, Univ of Michigan, Berkeley, and Univ of Illinois, Urbana. Have you head from anywhere?

I hate mech eng seemingly being last, I have a feeling I'm not gonna hear about all my rejections until april :/

REJECTED from MIT CDO. Oh well...

If the visiting weekend passed does that mean I was rejected?

No, they might accept you if they can't get enough people to accept out of the group they flew out on the first round. I didn't hear back from Berkeley until well after visiting weekends had passed (and I accepted at my current school). I wasn't accepted in the end, but they said they had held off of denying me since I was the next person in line to bet let in (why they didn't waitlist me I don't know...it would have at least been nice to have some confirmation they at least looked at my application other than my credit card being charged).

Anyone here get awarded outside fellowships?

I got into 3 places so far for MS/PhD in Mech E.

UIUC
Ga. Tech
Purdue

Still waiting on 7 more (hehe, I went overkill)
