Hello CC,

I was wondering if it was possible to pursue the field of aeronautical engineering as an undergraduate at Columbia. I am a regular admit for the class of 2017 to SEAS. Despite them not having an Aero(space/nautical) engineering major nor minor, is it still possible to go into that field at Columbia if you take certain classes? Are there research opportunities in that field? What major would you get if you at least wanted to set yourself up to get a degree in Aerospace Engineering in grad school? Are those students successful in getting into top-tier engineering universities?

Also, in general, how "strong" is the engineering program at Columbia in comparison to say, MIT and Stanford? Would people (employers/grad schools) look at it as different and more diverse (due to exposure to perhaps more fields outside engineering as well) or simply "inferior"?

Thank you very much.
