I recently went to an engineering college fair and noticed JMU has a new engineering school...Anyone here know anything about it or if admissions requirements are different?

I'm applying to JMU for engineering as well. Admissions should be relatively easier for this school compared to others at JMU that have stronger foundations, but it's just my guess.

I am currently a Freshman at JMU and looked into the engineering department. It shouldn't affect how your application is looked at-in fact it might increase your chances as this is a new school here. It should be MUCH easier than engineering at Tech or UVA as it's still developing. There is a four year plan and a five year plan splitting up calculus as a freshman into two classes. If you want to do it declare it as your major because switching into it second semester isn't an option; you immediately add on a 5th year.
