Are they really up early April? I don't think I can wait that long.

When was it last year?

All Ivy League decisions will be available online March 31 at 5 PM

Amzingly, you are not the only person to apply to engineering.

What's with the sarcastic tone? Did I say something offense?

Does Cornell CoE give out likely letters anymore?

Likely letter? If someone were to get a letter saying that they would get in, isn't that a definite? Has anyone gotten one?

I got one today, but its not CoE.

I did however go to the Engineering Diversity Weekend and talked with the admissions counselors (head one) and they said they do send out likely letters for CoE.

If you don't get a likely letter, does that mean you didn't get accepted?

No, a likely letter is a letter sent our to really good applicants basically saying that they are in without officially telling them. It can basically be taken as an early acceptance. Not everyone gets them. In fact, very few people get them.

And to OP: Sorry, I just had a sarcastic overflow, no offense against you at all. I just tend to post like that.

they do send them out, my sister received one right around this time when she applied.

And other people have gotten likely letters for engineering as well.

My D got an Engineering Likely Letter today!
It says "... although the Ivy League schools won't notify students of their admission decisions until the end of the month, it may help with your planning to know that you are very likely to be admitted to Cornell."

omg. this is freakin me out. I applied to engineering, and haven't heard anything back yet. i just lost all my hope. And for people who have received the letter, can you post your stat so it gives people some idea what kind of applicants get these letters?

how many likely letters have they sent out? particularly for engineering?

dammit, people, stop saying how you and your daughters and sons got likely letters for so and so college for so and so major.

Congrats, but you keep freaking out the kids who didn't get likely letters.

I will repeat this once again, on this thread, as well as every other thread.

Maybe at MOST 3-5% of students admitted get likelies, therefore you are in the majority if you got accepted and DIDN'T get a likely letter.
