Likely Letters vs Early notification

some letters say you WILL BE admitted. Mine says "you are very likely to be admitted" from the college of engineering. I've gotten nothing like this from cornell in general.. does this mean there's a possibility i won't be? how sure should i be..? this is so nervewracking!

College of engineering, female, caucasian

It is also telling me about the society of women engineers meeting
Some advice please??

you're in...

hey hey... ME TOO!!! I got the letter today =) it's a likely letter, and you should be pumped! haha I know I am

what's the likelihood that i'm in??

I got two letters.. one the same as your for Eng (SWE notification) and one from Cornell saying you will be admitted..

Letters are causing so much confusion..

higherground, when did you get each?? i just got the swe today

jtr22, 100% unless you are arrested for a crime in next two weeks or drop out of high school before graduation. BTW, this also applies to those who are accepted.

I don't think im going to be admitted. My sat was only a 1950.. this was a high reach and i dont have any outstanding characteristics that would make them want to accept me. How often does cornell turn down those who recieve likely letters???!

Never. Now shut up and go celebrate! =)

jtr22-you are making me crazy--if you got the letter you're in unless as jjsdad says, you're arrested, flunk out of h.s. etc. DId you hear me? You got the letter, you're in!!!!!!!!

sorry but the letter's making ME crazy!!! haha

I also got a likely letter from the engineering school and a letter from the society of women engineers. I thought they sent it to the wrong person!

Are men receiving likely letters from Cornell or just women?

I got a likely letter (I'm a guy) to CAS.

JTR22.. got the letters two days apart.

Any guys accepted to Engineering?

Yes. I am a guy, and not a minority, and I got a likely letter from Cornell engineering on Monday. It also informed me that I am a finalist for the Irwin and Joan Jacobs Scholarship.

Yay :)
