Anyone have any recommendations for engineering dorms? They all kind of look the same to me...

Not sure but the last time i visited the campus and the engineering dorms, i decided it would be better to stay away from them lol

My son is a Freshman living in Cockerell. An aerospace major, he chose it for its proximity to the Engineering building and to the C4C dining hall. The dorms are very similar but with small differences. eg Cockerell has no “front desk” so packages are picked up in Aden; Brackett has a kitchen; Crossman has some triples. The 5 buildings of the Engineering Quad are treated as one dorm for Intermurals and other dorm specific activities. My son likes the more intimate atmosphere of the smaller buildings, which surround their own quadrangle of grass. The dorms were built in the 40’s, so not surprisingly the rooms are rather small and heated by steam radiators. My son said he would choose to live in the Quad again. His second choice dorm would be Willard Hall.

My son is an aerospace engineering major who is currently a sophomore and lives off campus. He lived in Baker Hall his freshman year and liked it a lot. He did not want to just be with engineering majors and wanted to meet all sorts of people. Baker is right on Farrand Field, and he liked it for the proximity to everything. It does not have a cafeteria, but he would eat breakfast next door in Libby Hall. His room also was fairly spacious, he actually had the biggest dorm room of anyone on his floor as it was ground level, in the corner, and had two windows. Since Baker is a RAP, he was able to take his two electives, one each semester, in his residence hall, which was also convenient.

Just realize that Crossman is three to a room which can cause issues (e.g. the RA told me they have the most problems with roomates in Crossman). The other three are pretty much identical.

Thanks! I applied to Willard first choice, heard it just got renovated

Andrews Hall!
