Engineering likely letter

No, it is not required to attend the Engineering Open House if you want to attend UCLA in the fall. But it will hopefully help you make your decision.

I got one today at 6:15 PST. I jumped out of bed (since it is 6:45 AM where I am). I woke up the whole house. Looks very much like a likely letter.

2180 SAT
800 Math IIC, 740 Chem
Mech E.

However, I would have imagined that likely letters were much more strongly worded. If anyone wants the full text of the email to discuss further, here it is:

Oh really? It’s nice to see you applied, Mr. Derpson.

Your friend, Herp Herpson

I do believe this is an acceptance because April 15 is BRUIN DAY, which is for accepted students.

Herp! How’ve you been? Haven’t seen you in a long time. My perpetually-staring-at-others dad was asking about you ;)

@Tizil, because it isn’t a likely. As the email says it is an invitation to the open house. However it can be inferred from the letter that you are probably admitted considering it would be inane for them to send a invitation to an event for admitted students before decisions come out.

Got one
Act:33
Sat 2: math 2: 790, chem: 770
Major: engineering

Is it just major engineering received the likely letter?

Correctly noticed Ascaris. However, I was browsing through a 2010 thread on the same topic and the students who claimed to have received this letter also claimed to have been accepted. Plus, a point to note is that Bruins day is an ‘information day’ for accepted freshmen.

Anyways, you got one as well, so cheers :D

It is uncanny how we end up on the same college discussion threads :p

Sigh, I didn’t get one. Applied for computer science. Oh well :/

No, Bruin day is on the 14th, this thing is on the 15th. But calm the ***** down, guys. If they invited us to something that will take place after decisions are released, we’re in. End of story.

@Mozarak

Dude, don’t feel bad. On many threads, I read that getting one meant your in, but not getting one doesn’t mean your out.

Hope that makes you feel better. :P

If any of you have made an URSA, can you state whether or not anything changed on it?

Nothing changed on URSA.

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS) hosts its annual Engineering Open House for potential Fall 2012 first year students. This event is by invitation only and requires registration. (Please check back in late March to register). Due to the large number of expected guests, we ask that you limit the number of attendees to 3, including the student. Please wear comfortable shoes as UCLA is a large, hilly campus. Parking is in Lot 2 for $11.
