GOT it, too. I am an international student(also out of state student) in case someone asks whether an international or a out-of-state student can get a letter.
sat1:2240 GPA uw: about 3.77(no idea of uc gpa)
And congratulations to people who got letters and good luck to people who haven’t got their letters(I am sure the good news is on its way).

I got one yesterday at 7:35! Stats were similar to those posted =)

Only engineering applicants got these right?

I got one too, I’m a washington state studen’t oddly enough… I just politely told them I’m going to Stanford or mit

Are the emails sent out in batches or all together at once? :

got it today, international(Canada)

God willed it :O.

Got one today from ECE. International (Dubai). :D

Thanks Big Guy.

Please mark your status if you are not engineering major and received the likely letter? Anyone received the letter but not apply for the major?

Did anybody who did not get the letter get in last year? Or is not getting one a pretty sure fire rejection?

Futeng, not receiving the letter of course, does not mean a sure-fire rejection. It just means that you’ll get your acceptance later :)

@thefuteng- this email seems like UCLA’s version of a likely letter. most colleges send LL to a small percentage of the admitted pool. its safe to assume that a great many folks will be admitted through the typical notification later this month. those applicants that didnt receive a LL arent out of UCLA. all the best

4/15 is Bruinday for newly admitted freshmen.

I live in the la area, pretty strong stats, and no letter. Sighhhh. Should i keep waiting?

Those of you who got the letter, did you apply engineering to UCSD too? If so, did you get their Jacobs School emails?

I applied to UCSD for engineering and no, I didn’t get their Jacobs School’s email.

^ Same. It kind of worried me a bit, but I’d rather go to UCLA over UCSD anyways.

To tizil, I got the Jacob school email, but at the end of all the emails, there’s a disclaimer saying that the emails did not indicate admission

I have a theory from talking to a 4th year student that has interned in admissions at UCLA. I think that the engineering school does their admissions separately than the other colleges. That said, they most likely finish with their decisions before the decision date. However, they aren’t allowed to release their decisions before that date. Therefore, they send out that letter to their highest achieving students, to get their interest early on before they hear from other schools. UCSB did the same thing.

My situation is the same as Tizil’s.
