I've looked it up and have a question: Could I transfer into an engineering program after I've completed the tech program? Is it easier or harder for me to transfer and will I have some knowledge of what I'm doing in a Engineering program?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think the coursework required for most engineering technician programs is very different from the courses that you would take in your first few years in an engineering program so the biggest issue you would face in transferring is that most of your classes will not transfer and you will be missing several of the math and science prereq courses that are typically taken by engineering/pre-engineering students during their first two years (calculus, chemistry, physics etc.). If you are seriously thinking about transferring into engineering later, you might want to focus more on either a pre-engineering program or perhaps even an engineering technology program which might include more courses that will transfer over. (Engineering technology is a more recent area that is between technicians and engineers, and there are both 2 and 4-yr engineering technology programs available at many schools)

Yeah, not a lot of overlap between ET degrees and genuine engineering degrees. I wouldn’t expect much to transfer.
