Engineering Transfer - Is it worth it? What Schools?

I'm a freshman at VT for engineering. Although VT's engineering is highly ranked and overall a good engineering program, its just that, engineering. I'm trying to decide whether or not its a good idea to try to transfer somewhere that has a good engineering program, but is also strong across the board.
Possible schools: UVA (1st choice), UT-Austin, Michigan

Are there any other schools that have both Engineering and a broad range of classes (especially liberal arts)? Or is this a bad idea?

college GPA - 3.5 is my best guess for first semester
SAT - 1380
HS GPA - 3.7
8 APs (6+Comperative gov't = 8 total AP credits, but only 7 actual classes)
strong ECs (obviously much more in HS though)
strong recommendations
