Hello experts,
My daughter has finished 4 semesters of Electronics and Instrumentation engineering from a reputed engineering college in India. She is trying to transfer to a good school in US. Since she has H4 visa and I am a resident of Georgia she is trying Georgia tech as the first choice and also considering others like University of Texas, Austin, University of Florida, Purdue, Virginia tech. I notice that all these universities require some Calculus, Pre-Algebra, calculus based Physics and Calculus based chemistry as pre-requisites.
I believe most engineering institutes in India do not specifically have papers for the above, though they do a few courses in Applied Math, Physics and Chemistry.
I inquired in Georgia tech and they said they will not accept Indian High school subjects as meeting their math, physics and Chemistry pre-reqs.
I believe Indian CBSE, ICSE, Pre-University math and science are of pretty high standard, but not considered as equivalent to the pre-reqs at these top institutes.
Is there a way Indian transfer students can meet the pre-reqs and apply for transfer admission. I have seen some transfer students from Hong Kong at Georgia tech.
Any advice on the approach for Indian students.
