Can I just take this class to satisfy my Writing 2 requirement? Some people have been telling me that you need to take two writing 2 classes to fulfill that requirement ... is this true?

yes, you can take it to satisfy part of the requirement. however, it is not recommended since that class will be full of english majors (ie it's hard).

alternatives include english comp courses (5W, 6W, 100W), and any others that my be writing 2

"part" of the requirement? so you really do have to take 2 courses?

Yeah, 2 courses.

Either 2 writing II courses. Or one writing II and one seminar course.

I can't find any course description for 5W or 6W though. Where do you see it? I've searched on the general catalog, and they've listed out 100W but not the other two.

If I took a cluster, would the spring quarter fulfill ALL my writing reqs, or would I still have to take one more Writing II class?

^i believe it fulfills the entire requirement. check your DPR; it should say "satisfied" next to "writing II:"

it does. spring seminars fulfill a writing II and a seminar, so you're done :)

i have another question: even though my writing II req is fulfilled, do i still need to take another writing II to count for a "year of eng" that is required for med school? or does the seminar+writing II count as 2 separate classes toward the med school english req?

5W and 6W are listed under the ENGLISH COMPOSITION department (separate from english) these classes are not offered every quarter, but i know for a fact that they were offered last spring.

For the record, English 4W is not full of English majors -- in fact, the class was specifically for non-English majors. There are specific 4W classes designated for English majors.

And 4W was actually really easy. Might've just been my TA though.
