I'm attending a california community college rite now. colllege is great, but the only thing i dont like about it is having to take the english classes. I'm not saying i hate english, im just saying its very hard and large load to handle with my other classes. my question= how many english classes in total do i have to take to transfer? I'm planning on majoring in computer science/engineering, and planning on applying to:

just wanna add, you'll need good english skills to write a decent personal statement. so just think of the papers you write for english 101 and 102 as practice for persuading an audience (Admissions) that something is correct. That's all you're doing, making whatever you're thesis and supporting evidence is seem like the best and most logical argument.

good news, once you finish these classes, you probably won't need english again as an engineer... hooray! :)

I had a horrible English1A professor because I was still in high school and didn't know about that site. I ended receiving my first C. It took me a looong time boost up my GPA to its current status of 3.7. English is not bad as long as you have an easy/good teacher and if you're WILLING to do the work.

If you're doing IGETC, you'll need two english courses: english composition and critical thinking-english composition, and an additional oral communication (speech) course. For CSUs, it is prettymuch the same: oral communication, written communication, and critical thinking.

so.. plan on taking at least two english and one speech course in order to fulfill transfer requirements. it shouldn't be too bad as long as you have a good professor!! plan out your schedule accordingly after you use ratemyprofessor.com. i cannot stress this advice enough.

awesome, just 1 more english class after this semester!! i'm actually looking forward to taking speech, cause i'm better at public speaking than writing. Thanx everyone for your input! ^_^.....but anyone have any idea on the private collages i listed?
