English Proficiency Test and Admission

So, I'm not sure if anyone else is in this position. Not sure if anyone read the other thread I put up, but basically I was told that I met the requirements for the program of TESL in the Faculty of Education, and I was told I subsequently must take McGill's English Language Proficiency Test.

I am confused about what this means. I am opting for distance testing rather than going to McGill to take the test tomorrow (because it's just too long/costly to go there just to take a test) and it's taking incredibly long for the whole thing to be arranged. I was accepted to the University of Toronto, and their deadline for accepting admission is coming up. I'm not sure if I take this test and pass...(which I'm not sure why that should be a problem) if I am guaranteed acceptance. If there is any discrepancy then I really have to accept UoT's offer, because otherwise there's a chance I won't get into university. >_<

Is anyone else familiar with this situation? I communicated with someone at McGill and it sounded like she affirmed that admission was guaranteed, but I dunno. It just seems like a weird situation and I'm wanting closure, because there's a lot riding on this. There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the McGill site that explicitly describes this stuff.
