<p>I have narrowed down my college choice to UVA or UNC Chapel Hill. I am instate in Virginia, so there is a cost difference, but I am trying to look outside that at this point of the choosing process.</p>

<p>Both campuses are beautiful, I have friends at both. So, my question is, does anyone know which English department is better? I will definitely be majoring in English studies; perhaps minoring in History or Foreign Language (French). So, in terms of these humanities, specifically English, which college is strongest?</p>

<p>Any advice would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Go to UVA. They're both very good schools that are similar enough academically, socially and otherwise that the added cost is not worth it.</p>

<p>I know we're biased, but go to UVa. Its English department is quite stellar.</p>
