engrd 2620 electronic materials for info age

Has anyone here taken this class? I can't decide between it and engrd 2700 (stats) for next semester.
I either want to major in matsci or bio, so this class would expose me to matsci.. but i'd waste an advisor approved elective that could be on a more fun class if i don't affiliate with matsci.

This is such an amazing class.

I took it last year, (albeit with Professor Malliaras who is awesome) but it is what turned me on to Mat Sci and what turned me on to electronic materials.

The class itself is more of a broad overview of a lot of topics and less focused on specific concepts. While there is math involved (including solving problems), it is more about understanding the mechanisms than it is about understanding the math.

2700 stats is definitely NOT a fun class.

I got so inspired when we had lectures about the future of electronic materials, and the use of organic LEDs and its impact on the environment and the economy, and guest lectures on the use of MEMS for virus detection. Sigh. That class made me excited to be a scientist.

What’s your major? A lot of them have a stats class already in the core curriculum so you shouldn’t need to take 2700. I’m planning on taking 2700 next semester but only because the business minor doesn’t accept ECE 3100 for credit :(
