Enrolled in Discussion but WL in lecture??

I don't understand, I successfully enrolled in a discussion but I had to waitlist the lecture since there were already students on the waitlist for lecture. There are still discussions that are open. Am I going to be able to get into this class since I'm in a discussion, or does it really depend on whether only LECTURE will open up? I've never had to deal with this scenario before..usually it's the other way around (lecture open but discussions waitlisted).

Normally, you would have to get into a lecture to be enrolled in a class. You might get dropped from discussion without a lecture.

I think the students that are enrolled in the LEC, but waitlisted for the DIS, might get dropped if they don’t end up enrolling in a DIS.

Not sure how it works… because you are only tentatively enrolled in LEC if and only if you are enrolled in a DIS.

But I wonder about this question as well.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, junshik. Professors always tell us to sign up for dis or else you’ll get dropped from lec. It’s never been the other way around. haha… something weird is going on. What I’m hoping for is maybe people have signed up for LEC but not for DIS (otherwise, why would there be too many people enrolled in lecture and not enough in dis?), so they will be dropped later on, opening up space for me to get into lecture.
