<p>Hi!</p>

<p>I was just accepted this past October to MSU. I have already sent in my AED and have registered my AOP. </p>

<p>Western Michigan University, between when I registered and now, has offered me a chance to compete for a $50k scholarship. Obviously, if I win this scholarship (it will nearly cover my entire tuition and board with the money I have already in my college fund), I will be attending there instead. The chances of me getting it are slim....</p>

<p>I know I can defer/rescind my AED/AOP at any time. HOWEVER, if I do register for housing, does that obligate me to attend Michigan State? And at what point, if registering for housing is not it, am I obligated to attend MSU? </p>

<p>Signing your housing contract doesn’t obligate you to attend MSU; I don’t think there’s a point where you’re obligated to attend, you just won’t get any refunds back for AOP or your AED. Hope that helps and congrats on getting in!</p>
