Does anyone have any advice for someone entering prep school as a junior. I am an outgoing person and will play on a varsity sports team. I am starting to question myself because people keep questioning me on why I would want to transfer half way through high school. I was accepted to the 3 schools I applied, and I am excited for the opportunity. I realize it will be difficult, but I also believe it will be a great experience.
I applied and got accepted as a junior too. Go for it! Personally, my reasons for doing it are because I want to challenge myself more, I believe that the education would be better than at my current LPS, and more opportunities. Sure, going in at 11th is harder than in 9th but who cares. 11th and 12th are in my opinion the most important grades (with college counselling and such happening) and if you want to do it, go for it.
I’m not really an authority on this but I was thinking, you will get an awesome GPA boost from your old school, with the college matriculation of BS!
I will be a junior too - I wanted a better education than the “spit back the information” learning that goes on in my present school. I know the transition is going to be tough - but I am excited
@skierone what sport will you play? We know lots of kids who applied and were accepted for 10th and 11th. We personally got lots of comments, some positive and many negative. People often question things that they nothing about. Further, many people view it as a tacit rejection of what they know and value. Clearly it is not. We just say it is something we felt our child needed --for many complex reasons.
