i'm planning on applying for entry as a junior (i had thought that my current high school would provide adequate academic rigor, it didn't) and was wondering if anyone could give any insight into what it is like to do this. i'm especially interested in the social situation of people who enter as juniors. are others usually accepting, or does the newbie tend to be ostracized?

you might want to contact TomTheCat. he’s entering Andover this September as a junior… (although he probably couldn’t give you his “social situation” until sometime after September…)

AT least at NMH there is a large influx in Junior year, about half who were rising juniors, and half rising Seniors who had been at schools that academically did not match. Join a club, talk to folk, get involved. At larger schools, there is enough ebb an flow to not even notice who is new and who is old.
