Enthusiastic or stalkerish?

My daughter has decided that Tufts is her first choice, so she's applying ED. There is an admissions rep coming to her school, but there is also a "Tufts on Tour" in the area. Should she go to both or is meeting the rep at her school enough? I think she wants to come off as more Elle Woods than Annie Wilkes.

Why wouldn’t she want to show enthusiasm for her first choice school? Besides, from what I’ve witnessed during the time spent helping my two kids get into college, this doesn’t even come near stalker-behavior. I’d also encourage your daughter to do what feels right, and not worry about how it comes across to anyone else. Expressing her genuine and authentic self wil go a long way toward helping her find the college that fits her best.

THere is no more definitive way to demonstrate interest in a school than applying ED.
That being said, I agree with westernhillsmom that she should do whatever she wants in terms of attending one or both. They won’t focus on that so much once they see she’s applying ED.

It’s only Stalkerish if she follows those visits by mailing us bags filled with glitter, a photo resume, some candy, and a note that reads, “I know where you live, ha, ha.”

(The above is an Arrested Development reference I never thought I’d be able to insert into an admissions related response. Please forgive my petty indulgences.)

I guess she should also include all her favorite Arrested Development quotes since she loves (I can’t put it in past tense!) that show. David Cross says he’s sure there’ll be a movie sequel – fingers crossed!

Thanks for the advice all!

Yes! She can do a trailer as the optional video for her application.

^^^^ hahahahaha

Oh man. I want to see that trailer so badly.
