Entrance Bursary Doubt

I received an Entrance Bursary of about 14,000 dollars for my first year at McGill. The letter states that this is non-renewable but I may be eligible for In Course Financial Aid for my subsequent years at McGill. Provided I keep my grades high and my family’s financial situation remains the same, how would ICFA compare to the Entrance Bursary? I ask this because I don’t think it would be wise to go to McGill without any surety of getting financial aid for the subsequent years. I am an international, if that helps.

Bump.

Help Please. Anybody.

Bump Again.

I am in the same exact situation! If you find an answer please let me know! Thanks.

I think they offer pretty much the same amount unless theres been a significant change in your family situation… not entirely sure though.

Also does anyone know how hard it is to get a canadian permanent residency? If I could qualify for domestic tuition that will be fantastic…just a dirty thought

A student cannot get permanent residency if the sole reason for being in Canada is to attend school.

But @TomSrOfBoston For now the reason for going to Canada is school. How would we know what the reason will be years down the line?

You will still have to pay international tuition.

Yeah. Education abroad is expensive but I guess the investment will pay in the long run.
