Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State or University of Oklahoma

OU has a top 10 undergraduate program in Entrepreneurship, and has been for years, but is $15,000 more than OSU. The rankings take into account various things, including number of professors who are entrepreneurs, number of students in that major, number of entrepreneurship classes offered, experiential and cooperative learning, number of entrepreneurship clubs offered, and more. Of course, they also ask about the number of successful businesses started and internship opportunities. But I have no idea how they weigh each. Most other factors don’t matter as much if the actual percentage of students who created successful businesses isn’t significantly different than comparable schools. It could be possible that OSU has students create similar numbers of successful companies despite not having higher numbers in all of the factors that goes into ranking entrepreneurship programs. Even if the number of successful businesses created by OSU was smaller than OU, there is nothing way to know if it is significant enough to warrant the significant cost difference.

When students weigh their college decision, they consider bang for the buck. Sometimes that means spending more. Sometimes, taking the best advantage of every resource available at a college with a lower ranking program can be just as good as a higher ranking school.

Decision day is here. It’s an extremely difficult choice. There are no plans for graduate school, so a great undergraduate program is really important.

Has anyone here chosen OSU over OU for entrepreneurship for reasons other than financial?

Also, since building a business may take awhile, a great chance of finding employment right after graduation is also very important.
