Entry level positions for recent IR grads

How does a recent International Relations graduate enter the IR job field? Even though I did well in my classes (IR and History double-major, Asian and European studies minors) I failed miserably in amassing any sort of work experience in my field. Like many college graduates with no idea what to do, I have spent the past 6 months teaching English in Korea, but I'll be returning home in six months with the same questions of what to do next.

So, hopefully we can discuss how to gain entry-level positions that are relevant for IR majors. Maybe someone who is interested in a think-tank, diplomacy, any kind of analysis for the government, or NGO's... I know it's difficult for people with at least an internship or some work experience under their belt, but what if you don't even have that?

And secondly, what if someone were interested in going to back to school for their PhD in a few years, but wanted to gain some experience in their career field to figure out just what track they should be on?

Anyway, hopefully this is a broad enough thread that will bring some fresh ideas for recent grads trying to break into the field, thanks for any advice!
