No, but I have friends who go there both day and boarder and they love it and although their campus is small it’s really nice. And how would you know that Episcopals boarding life is better ? Have you boarded at both ? I doubt so… I’m not saying Episcopal is bad but I’m just saying that in academics and athletics GPrep is better.

true true except in soccer

gprep is truly a mini g’town with sick athletics and great academics

Episcopal has 100% boarding. GPrep has less than 50%.

What’s your point KCcansps15 ? GPrep isn’t an actual BS it has a boarding program but it’s more like an amazing day school and having 100 % boarders suck because there is little to no outside connection with the real world where as day students can invite boarding students off campus at GPrep !

Yes but I believe the OP is deciding as a boarder.

Ok but GPrep is better… Boarder or Day.

If you go to [Compare Boarding Schools - Boarding School Review](<a href=“Compare Boarding Schools”>Compare Boarding Schools) and compare them, it will give you a better idea of which is a better school.

First off here are all the advantages Episcopal has on GPrep.
- EHS campus is bigger by 40 acres.
- Their are girls there.
- They have less students.
- All students board.
- Their average class size is smaller.
- The teacher student ratio is lower.
- They have more AP courses even though they have less students than GPrep.
- EHS’s endowment has 112 million more dollars in it.
- The tuition is less for boarders.
- Their is more FA given out.
- Their are more sports.
- Their are more clubs.

Now here are GPreps advantages.
- It is older.
- More faculty have an advanced degree.
- There are more internationals and students of color.
- The admissions rate is lower and the SSAT’s are higher.
- And they have English as a second language if that matters to you.

They are both good schools but all I am saying is that I think Episcopal has the edge.

No offense but these are just facts GPrep is awesome, everybody is a bro, you can chillax on the weekend. They have the best sports and they have rugby ! I’m more of a bro and I like sports so GPrep would be better for me but if you really care about class size, give or take a few students doesn’t really matter for me… Endowment’s more like a bragging kind of think so meh I’m not too fussed and AP classes means nothing because GPrep has some classes that go beyond AP. And the other stuff you put is complete bull, I mean no one cares that one school has 40 more acres than the other. Basically GPrep is an athletic powerhouse that attracts smart kids who are athletes although it’s more of a day school it has a boarding program and most of its kids go on to athletic colleges and G’Town they simply prefer to go G’Town and athletic colleges than the ivies because for one they are recruited for sports and some want to stay near home. There you are GPrep is better !

Ok so it all boils down to this. Do you want to board at a day school for rich jocks and “bros” or do you want to go to an 100% boarding school that excels in all areas, athletics included?

I’m am farily sure that Gprep is more highly regarded in the DC metro area than EHS.

now let me ask you a question KCcansps15 are you from the DC metro area?
if not, your opinion means little and swissbrit is correct as he currently resides in the DC metro. just becuase a school is 100% boarding is like saying that EHS is better than PA simply based on the fact that EHS is 100% boarding, and PA has day students. if that is the basis for your argument (which it looks like it is) then that is perhaps the worst arguement i have ever heard.

What I am trying to say is, that if you want a REAL boarding school, then GPrep is not the place to be. Episcopal may not have as good a repuation in DC because their students are from around the world, while GPrep educates the locals. Just a suggestion, but mabye some of the Bethesda boys are a little upset that Episcopal does not allow day students? (: But GPrep is a good school too, don’t get me wrong. They are two really different schools.

well it doesn’t matter because alexandria to bethesda during rush hour is too long of a commute so it would not be smart but anyways

So what if a lot of Bethesda boys are rich ? I enjoy my lifestyle at Bethesda, private school kids aren’t that different from public school kids around bethesda and nearly nobody goes to private in VA because all the private schools in VA can’t match up to the ones in DC and Bethesda and Potomac. Plus as Hcos said the commute would be terrible. And FYI none of the " bethesda boys" care about Episcopal… Anyways as you said both schools are DIFFERENT but GPrep is better and would bring better connections.

Look swissbrit, the OP has obviously already made his choice. No need to keep debating, you can go on thinking GPrep is better. Go Maroon!

The OP may have made his choice but everybody knows that GPrep is better, more people will agree to that than saying the Episcopal is better because it simply isn’t. Wherever the OP chooses to go shouldn’t be based on class size or endowment or number of AP classes, it should be on how the OP feels at those schools. And at the end of the day GPrep is better, it has the edge overall…

Did you even apply to GPrep?

No, it doesn’t offer the specific sports that I am interested in. How is that relevant ?

It seems like your whole bias toward GPrep is because of sports? There is more to a high school than just sports.

If you are a geek then yes but if you love sports then no and GPrep has better academics and connections so no it’s not just based on sports.

Ok. 10char
