ERC - Electrical Engineer

I have been admitted to ERC as an electrical engineering major and i am a transfer student with a partial IGETC completed. I'm kind of curious of what the MMW 21-22 courses are like... What is the likelihood of transferring out of the college because I am kind of weak in writing when history and politics come into play. Will I have a problem as an electrical engineer in this college? Any recommendations and advice? Thanks everyone.

Could someone please help me and address my post?

The only question I can answer is that being an electrical engineer at ERC will not be different than at any other college. You will be taking the same EE classes with the same people.

Double post. Sorry.

I see… Is MMW 21-22 as bad as everyone says it is?

You have to show that you will graduate 2 or more quarters early by transferring colleges, among a list of other things. All the requirements are listed on page 2 of the pdf ^^

Don’t know anything about MMW though :\ sorry.

I’m in ERC too (sophomore), but basically MMW is this intense course series thingy that combines blood, sweat, writing, and history (ok im exaggerating a bit, it isn’t that bad actually, kind of interesting)
Basically MMW 21 covers the pre-modern world, a and MMW 22 covers the modern world. So you guys would be doing the entire MMW 5 course series in 2 courses. So expect to write research papers and essays in these courses

It’s one of the toughest GEs at UCSD (when you compare it to the GEs of say Muir and Marshall. It’s on the line of Revelle GEs, which are excruciatingly painful)
In all honesty, it isn’t half bad. I dont know, but try getting Prof. Herbst if he is teaching MMW 21, he was and still is my favorite professor. I think the worst part for everyone are those research papers which seriously consume a lot of time (if you want to do a good job)…
