Erratic Scores, retake???

I've already taken the NEw SATs twice(March/June), and the old ones once, however, each time my scores vacillates between sections a lot. I'm not satisfied with my current composite score, especialyl my writing score, but would taking the new ones a third time in November or October be frowned upon?

Oct 2004
M-700, V-760 (1460)
March 2005
M-700, V-700, W-600 (2000)
June 2005
M-680, V-800, W-630

so right now, the composite score is 2130. Should I just stick with this score or retake it??? I feel I have so much more potential in writing and math, but both curves are so harsh that one or two extra wrong answers will take away a good 50 points in each section.I really wanted to apply to Yale EA and now I feel my SATs are really weak.
Is anyone else in the same boat as me???? arggg, i loathe the writing section.

what is ur goal

i would be careful about rewriting. That would have you writing the SAT 4 times, which doesnt look great. If you really think that you can improve though, and put in the time, than it may be worthwhile.

On a side note: Up to how many times can you (should you?) take the SATs? Is three times still acceptable?

If you felt you did strong prep already, then retaking probably won't help too much?
Otherwise reprep during the summer, and/or find a good prep class/tutor,
and see if that helps?

Currently your V/M are strong, but as you said, WR would need improvement
(for Yale EA ...)

scorpiadiva, my goal was 2250 or above.
this time I feel I could have done alot better on the MC, my essay was a 10. I did not spend as much time on the writing as I had hoped. I think if i had a whole summer to improve then in october i can probably increase the writing score by 100 points.
But i've also read before that ivies don't like it when the person takes the SATs more than twice(but that was referring to the old version), so hence my predicament.

4 times is a bit excessive. In terms of HYP, your SATs put you in the 50% of the applicant pool (approximately, don't quote me on it). I think you should stick to it and make the other parts of your Yale application shine.

are there any other suggestions?

i think u should stick with ur score b/c its great- but if u insist on getting a 2250 i think u can take it again- i justify this b/c u took the old sat which means that i think there is more room to take another NEw SAT- if u r up to it
