ESL Exam required

I'm a newly admitted transfer student at UCLA, and I'm on F1 Visa( Intl. student). Today I checked my degree progress report on URSA and I saw that I'm required to take ESL Exam. How could it happen??? Since I transfered from California Community College( spent 3 years there) and I finished both 2 transferable English composition courses( Equivalent to English 3 and 4W) with grade A, I think I should be waived the ESL Exam

Info on the UCLA website states:"Entering ESL transfer students who received a grade of B or better on the English 3 and 4 equivalent transfer courses are exempt from taking the ESLPE; all other transfer students are required to take the ESLPE"

I would appreciate any advice.

bumppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

I would recommend you contact UCLA. I'm the same as you, sort of, but I don't have to take the ESL exam :)

Do you think I should be waived the ESL exam based on the grades I got in 2 English composition courses? Tks

If those are the two required by UCLA, then yes it should be waived! I got A's too and don't have to take the exam. Call UCLA and sort this thing out :) If you're attending an orientation you can approach a counselor and have them assist you. Good luck!
