So for Apply Texas's topic A (influential person), I wrote a deep essay about my friend who committed suicide about eight months ago. However, it can be pretty depressing even though it ends off on a decent note when discussing me.
Is it better to submit a deep yet depressing essay or a funny/uplifting essay?

Deep, depressing essays will fail if you do not mention what you gained from that incident and how it made you stronger. Otherwise, go for uplifting essay.

I have mentioned how it’s made me stronger with a specific example. Should I just stick to the depressing one then?
