Essay clich

I'm applying to Fordham EA using the Your Choice Application and I'm doing essay #2: "With which literary character do you most readily identify? What traits do you share?" I want to write about Holden Caulfield, but I feel as though it is too much of a clich

It doesn’t seem very cliche to me. However I do not know why you would want to write about Holden Caulfield seeing as he is not the most congenial character. But, hey, it’s up to you!

i don’t think its cliche as long as u wrote it well and explained why u feel like u identify with him u should be fine.

I’m still too iffy about it. So I decided to do the significant experience essay about my experience with Hurricane Katrina. I wasn’t caught in it, but I was in the area when it hit and I was stuck in the airport for hours. It affects me when I think about how close I was to all the destruction and devastation, yet I was not a part of it.

How does that sound for an essay?

I think you should write both and then have a few people read each of them to determine which one is the best.
