Ok, So I'm starting to look at apps and essays. I'm brainstorming for what I should write in each essay(most colleges I'm looking at have supp essays.) Anyways, obviously the most important essay I should be focusing on is the common app one. I was wondering if writing about the importance of obesity to both society and myself would be a good topic. I was fat for the majority of my childhood, until I was 15 and decided that I needed to change myself. I know that one of the prompts for the common app is to write about something that is important to either society or yourself.
I feel as writing about obesity would help me show that I'm a good writer and some qualities(such as tenactiy) that seperate myself from others.
What do the CC'ers think?

i think that’d be fine. it would probably be something that you could easily write and are passionate (not sure if this is the right word here…) about.
as long as you don’t write about something TOO cliche (the day fluffy died, my world ended and i decided to devote myself to a life of intensive philosophical thinking…)
