hello lovely CC people,

So, I've already written my Common App essay, and it's a sort of made up topic ("What were your childhood passions and how did they influence you?" or something to that extent) but I wrote about my writing (I'm a fiction writer) and passion for history and how they're related. Upon looking at this year's questions, I was drawn to the "scientific method" question (option two) and wanted to write about my "writing method." One of my recs is from my English teacher, my biggest EC is my school newspaper, I'm going to include some short stories as supplements, and the only SAT IIs I've taken are history ones and Lit- as well as a fabulous 630 on bio (I took it freshman year, okay?!).

The issue is, I don't want to look like the only thing I'm capable of writing about is writing. I don't want to seem like I'm only good at English and the "soft sciences" (well, I guess this is true but...). However, I think my scientific method answer would be pretty funny. I could do "Play-doh to Plato," but I don't know... I just think it would look weird that BOTH of my main essays are about writing. What do you guys think? Am I just making a big deal out of nothing?

(side note: I'm looking to major in history or medieval studies)
