<p>I'm currently finishing up my UChicago essay and was wondering how long other people's essays are. I didn't see any limit on the application and it looks like mine is going to be about 750 words. Is this too long? Should I try to cut it down? I feel like everything in it is absolutely necessary for me to get my point across, but I don't know if admissions people frown upon longer essays or what. Most of my other applications specify around 500 words. What do y'all think?</p>

<p>mine's roughly 1100 words, but falls within the 1-2 page suggestion. i don't think there's a real length issue.</p>
