Essay Question! Please read

<p>Hiya. Well after my unfortunate rejection with UPenn, it’s time to send in lots of applications!</p>

<p>For the ‘Why Brown’ essay, how unoriginal is the diversity aspect? I began writing about my homogeneous school/community and when I finished realized I was already at my 1000 character maximum. </p>

<p>Just wondering if the diversity path is a bad route, since how much can you really convey in only 1000 characters!</p>

<p>Also, for the ‘Why are you drawn to the academic fields you indicated in the Anticipated Degree and Academic Interest questions above?’ question how many of the indicated fields did you mention? There are five options to indicate interests yet again only 1000 characters for this essay! grr.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about your first question, but I had really related academic fields, and mainly talked about my first choice, though i did mention my second choicr.</p>

<p>The fact that you even have to worry about this is a good answer to your question; unfortunately, diversity (and the open curriculum) are very overused. However, this does not mean that they are inappropriate topics. As long as your essays are well-written, earnest and purpose-driven, you will be fine.</p>
