essay question

hey all. as i'm about to apply to the colleges of my preference, I have thought of a potential topic of discussion in one of my essays. i was thinking of talking about how I have always struggled socially with Aspergers sysndrome and how I have changed over the years in order to overcome AS. (EX. talk about how I developed an interest in volunteering and how it allowed me to develop the skills I otherwise would not have so strongly). I am applying to some competitive schools (Top Choices = Tufts, Brown, BC), so it is really important for my essay to stand out. Is this a good topic?

(My parents' college financial adviser practically begged me to discuss this in my essay)

It’s a good topic if you make it good. I know it sounds obvious but what I mean is that anything can be a good essay topic if you make it unique, personal and deep. You can write about goldfish and make it amazing or even something as cliche as your favorite president. You have a unique situation and you should definitely use that, especially since it has affected your life in profound ways.

Often it’s about how you write it too, so make sure you put thought into it and have others read it. Good luck.

thanks a bunch!!!
