Alright. I've procrastinated too long, however I've had the idea for a while. I want some opinions on the topic.
My essay for the common application to apply to Lehigh is going to be my journey through Boy Scouts to achieving Eagle Scout and obtaining life-changing values. I figured this was a good choice since it was my main EC and honor achieved, and I really wanted to emphasize it.

but isnt there a short answer on the commonapp of 150 words asking you to elaborate on one of your main EC's? What are you writing there? If you're writing about your Boy Scouts there as well, it might get boringly repetitive. Unless you've already thought of this, and have written something else for your 150-er. :P

Well, I'm not going to simply elaborate on it in my essay. I'd like to go more into detail about the values and specific examples of community service, leading others, and such.

yeah that sounds ok i guess. Just make sure your application displays the entire range of your personality and achievements...not just one segment. THe essay topic's got potential though. Good luck!

Yeah. I want to make sure that they know I didn't just get Eagle Scout. By that I mean, I didn't just complete the requirements to get the award; I actually put time and effort into every aspect of it. I wasn't just in Boy Scouts, attending meetings and camping trips, but in addition giving more back than I was receiving. Eagle simply being a little reward near the end.
