Okay, I'm trying to get into Notre Dame. I posted my stats on the ND forum of CC, and got some positive feedback. I think if I write a really good essay I'll stand a very good chance of getting accepted.

I have a very, very, rough draft of an essay...far from completion. It's only about 200 words so far. Would anyone be willing to read what I have so far, and tell me if I'm on the right path or not?

Sure, ill be happy to, i am majoring in both english and economics so i can give you a comprehenive critique. Good luck by the way, Notre Dame is a tough school, best of wishes :)

Thanks guys, but I just got another idea for an essay.

Which of these do you think would be better for Notre Dame?

Making the basketball team in 7th grade over several other kids
OR
Growing up in a town of less than 250 population and graduating with a class of 23.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Once I decide which one to write my essay on, I will PM it to those who are willing to help me out.

I'd choose the second topic because the first one seems kind of far back (meaning why do you want to talk about the 7th grade and not about what happened to you in high school..?) Plus the second topic seems kind of unique and interesting :)

You can PM me if you'd like me to edit it once you're done.

Why don't you write essays on both topics? Even if you apply Early action, you still have a couple of months to write essays, revise, and polish.

Okay, guys, I started writing an essay on growing up in a small town. I've got my introduction paragraph, and I'm going to put a few anecdotes about my childhood in there. I'll PM you what I have so far, and I'd appreciate honesty.
