I made a very unconventional essay but I think it speaks my voice, the one in sixth grade that wrote for fun, for others, not for grades. I’ll include more about what I want to ask any possible readers if someone PMs me. 1. Do I need an email address? You guys probably know…

Why is it that no one ever posts their essay up though? Help here would also be appreciated.

just PM me lol.

People steal essays. :)

Send yours over! ;) I promise I won't steal... I already submitted my EA application. It's probably a big obese NO, but could be worth a shot, eh? I actually reply back and everything too, though. I edit essays for fun. :)

personally I wouldn't take the risk of sending a college essay over the internet to a stranger, you never know what can happen. But it's your call and I'm not saying anyone on here has bad intentions.

Better ... bother yourself! read your own essay ... read out loud ... let the words strike your ear .... see if what you wrote touches you. if you find it striking a chord, then it's good. And just to be safe, show it your English teacher for grammatical errors, etc.

PS: Your essay can never be stolen. Your essay is about your life, do you really think somebody can make your life his/her own? :)

well, which essay prompt are you answering? if it's the first one -- about a moment that felt like "the end of the world" -- I really should not see it because I didn't get what I was supposed to get across :/

if it's the second one (the one about your life and family and where you come from and such), that one I'd be more than happy to help you with if you're not totally freaked out by now!

people do steal essays :/ it sounds outlandish, but it happens! there are threads about this on CC. I know this doesn't mean much to you right now, but I promise I don't. still, you're probably paranoid of sending your essay now, so if you want, you could tell us the general gist of it and we can maybe somehow tell you if we think it works, or what factors could determine your essay's workability. what is it about your essay that bothers you, or your GC, so much?

Well the essay is fictional to start with. But the character is me in a sense. My journey. And it goes 15% over the word limit. The optional essay where you can write anything useful.

well unconventional essays, as long as they aren't completely insane, could work and get you in...or could fall flat and well, not help you or hurt you. so it's like a game theory chart: write a conventional essay and get small benefits, or write an unconventional one and get a lot or none.
