Estimate my Scholarship Offer??

Was accepted to Pitt a few months ago and am interested in seeing how much merit scholarship money I will get. I have heard in the past that kids from my school have received nice offers from Pitt (they typically accept 40-60 kids from our senior class). I have a 4.0 GPA and a 2050 SAT. Accepted to college of engineering. Thanks!

You probably won’t get anything from the honors college unless your CR+M is 1450+

While a 2050 SAT score is impressive, it’s not outstanding for Pitt’s Honors College students. You might get something or you might get nothing. My son’s score was just a little lower and he got $0 merit, although we did get an unexpected financial aid grant that helped.

@wwsjl23 @Fauster I did not apply to the Honors College.

@pacollegekid97‌ For the most part, it’s the honors college that gives out the scholarships. No one applies to it, and for some reason or another, it’s the UHC that administers most Pitt scholarship money. Like the scholarship letters are from the UHC. I believe there are maybe a couple special programs for particular students (there’s one for blacks, some small ones for engineers, another for nursing I think) that may have funds independent to UHC, but they’re either low-value scholarships (compared to the ~27k or 37k cost of going to Pitt) or are given to few students.

Did some research on the honors program. Very strange. It seems like at every other school you need to apply directly and meet certain requirements and then you are invited, compared to at Pitt where it sounds like it is open to everyone. Thanks for the info @nhdmaniac!
