Eugene Lang Transfer Admissions

I'm not sure what my grades are at the moment because I am in community college. And thus far, I have taken one test in Ethics and one in Logic--both of which I registered for after deciding to take a gap year after high school and then changing my mind one day after registration.

I would like to transfer to Eugene Lang (The New School for Liberal Arts) by next summer. And while I have read every assignment and am confident in what I know, I am still unsure about how well I would perform on my tests.

As for extracurriculars, I have written for The New York Times--on a freelance basis--twice since high school. So I'm thinking those credentials might boost my transcript a little, although I don't know for sure.

I have played the clarinet since 2001, and have sung in the Raleigh Boy Choir for six years. I have been writing since 2006.

My GPA in high school was a 2.5. In college I'm not sure what it is exactly (mid-term reports haven't been released yet). I'm taking two classes this semester and five next semester, which should add up to 21 credits total.

Anyone who can provide some personal insight will be appreciated substantially.

The school gets more and more competitive every year. You may be able to get accepted by simply writing excellent essays describing why you TRULY want to attend. If you are just wanting to attend because it’s in The City, they will see through it. The essays will DEFINITELY help.

Just apply, they are on rolling admissions! The financial aid does tend to be a bit on the lower scale though.

Good luck!
