I am sure it has been around. Just saying that “micellar water” is incorrect terminology. Whenever incorrect scientific terminology is used, my BS antenna goes up. “Micellar [name your surfactant] in water” would be a better term. I am sure this formulation works well as a cleanser.
I see that this scientifically incorrect term now turned into a term of art.
The Body Shop Banana Truly Nourishing Shampoo. I love how creamy and lathery and great smelling it is! I’m not sure why I never heard about this one before. I’ve also loved their Satsuma shower gel for years.
Funny, I tried Style Edit and it’s just not for me. I have tried a few products over the years and think Color Wow is better. I guess I like powder better than spray. Angie (from Hot and Flashy) recently recommended a product you paint on – I think it was a Revlon product – that I want to try.
Finally, I am able to shed the hydrocollodiol bandages and viola a much less noticeable pair of scars than I feared. My H has been using these fancy, pricey bandages for years now. I’m a convert. They cost a lot but it does really reduce the size and notice ability of the scar for skin tears.
Sadly, my skin tears very easily thanks to decades of inhaled steroids for improved breathing and clumsiness.
I also applied a dab of Maderma ointment on the discolored bits so hopefully they will fade and more closely match the rest of my skin. Sure wish my skin weren’t quite so fragile.
Love this thread, but it is long. Be nice to see all the recommendations were condensed into one post - as if anyone on CC has that kind of time. ?
Here are some of my favorite things in random order.
Swiffers. I keep one hidden behind a bookcase in the family room to do a quick dust around. Keeps dust levels down in between cleaning days.
Furminator. Just got this for my dog. Already noticing much less dog hair around.
Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing sheets (generic brands just as good). These blue oil absorbing sheets are better than facial powder for a quick refresh, especially on hot days. Face looks clean and matte after.
Milk frother. Love my homemade lattes
Cuisineart Smart Stick handheld blender. Makes easy, healthy soups (combine broth + onion + packet of frozen peas, simmer, then blend until puréed) and easy spaghetti bolonese sauce (jar sauce blended with cooked ground meat)
Hot steam mop. Bissell is best, but my knock off brand is great too.
Scott TP. 1000 sheets per roll mean the rolls last longer. Cheaper brands run out quickly, need frequent roll changes and more trips to the store to restock.
Salt as an exfoliator. Mix a little table salt with a creamy cleanser and gently scrub. It helps remove dry skin cells, leaves soft, clear skin.
Handiwipes a necessity for travel during cold and flu season. I use them to wipe door knobs, tv remotes in hotel rooms and airplane armrests and trays (They don’t clean planes in quick turnarounds).
Red Copper Flipwich for making easy paninis, toasted sandwiches. Best ‘made for TV product’ I’ve tried.
That floor machine looks cool. Just what I need for hardwoods and marble. Costco has it on sale right now for $195. I’ll give it a try knowing that I can always return if not thrilled with it.
Wysi-Wipes! Just add whatever liquid you like to the small compressed tablet and it rehydrates to a sturdy disposable towel. Bought them on Amazon. There are other brands as well, of similar items.
