Evaluate my probability please

Hi there!

I’m from Indonesia and recently applied for UW Seattle and UW Bothell as an International Student.

Here are my facts:

English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 97 out of 120.
High school GPA: 4 out of 4 (Semester 1 - 5)
SAT/ACT: None. Taking either is difficult in Indonesia.

Activities:

  • School Acceleration: I skipped my ninth grade and directly entered high school.
  • Chemistry Olympiad: Various competitions held by unis in Indonesia. Also managed to reach the national level of National Chemistry Olympiad of Indonesia (held by Ministry of Education).
  • Violin concerts: Several violin shows and concerts. I've been playing violin ever since I was in elementary.
  • Peer tutorship: I teach and control chemistry class in my school. It's an olympiad class. Nearly 2 years.
  • Martial Arts: More than 3 years. Wu Shu.

Anyone?

The fact that you have not taken the SAT or the ACT is worrying to me. They’ll probably want you to take them to demonstrate your abilities in math, english, and Critical Reading. As well as the subject tests (which will demonstrate your proficiency in other subjects possibly relating to your major-do you know what you plan to major in?). Your GPA is great and your EC’s are nice (not phenomenal, but nice). Good luck though-I’m not sure if those are ‘test optional’ schools.

“SAT/ACT: None. Taking either is difficult in Indonesia.” It may be difficult but likely not impossible.

How do you expect these schools to evaluate your application? Don’t they require the SAT or ACT?

No, they don’t require SAT scores from internationals, only the TOEFL or IELTS.
However, OP, were you applying for scholarships? Because those would depend on SAT/ACT scores…
You’re competitive for UWA and will likely get in if you don’t need financial aid (or would get in but without any aid).
UWa Bothell is a given with your record.

I’m very sorry for the extremely late reply. I was hospitalized (dengue fever). Hence, I couldn’t check this thread.

No, I was not. I wasn’t applying for any scholarships.

Well, Bothell accepted me  , but Seattle hasn’t announced anything yet :frowning: Are they comparable? Is 39% a good admission rate? Is transferring between UWs easy?
