<p>I believe she’s married to John Rafter, the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Math Studies. Both of them obtained their PhD’s from Vanderbilt. I don’t think that will really help you with your class, though.</p>
<p>Good luck with the Probability/Statistics thing. Central Limit Theorem and Moment-generating functions completely blow my mind.</p>
<p>I loved Lorie. She was my adviser. Both John and Lorie are great math teachers. They challenge their students, but they only expect you to be able to understand their teaching level. It is fair. If you take math beyond 218 or Linear Algebra, be prepared. I majored in math at Vanderbilt, but if you think either Dr. Rafter is difficult, you’re going to be in for the long-haul.</p>
