Everyone should go to Michigan!

I got back from a local reception about the University of Michigan, and all of you should go to Michigan. Everyone. Well, I'm not going, but it's a financial thing. I'm not even a Wolverines fan, but I will be, except in certain extenuated circumstances.

Go to Michigan. Watch football games. Hate Ohio State.

:)

Awww... How sweet. :)

Are you going to MIT, zoogies?

Nah, Cornell.

I wish Cornell had a football team and marching band program like Michigan's. =p

Did you go to the Boston reception?

I was invited, but since I'm not going to attend Michigan I thought that showing up at the reception would be a bit uncouth. I also had about zero warning, so I went out with my friends instead.

I went to the one in Acton, it was somewhere in the middle of a winding road of a clubhouse complex.

But there to guide us were pairs of blue-and-maize balloons as flagposts, and at the end, like something right out of Super Mario, was a hovering yellow star.

If it weren't for financial constraints, I would really consider going to Michigan right now. You should've gone! =) It changed my perception of Michigan considerably, and I kinda want to go there for graduate school now, if I pursue graduate school.

Oh yeah, it was in Acton.

I wanted to go, but I didn't really have enough time to plan it, and I would feel weird going to the reception since I don't intend to go to Michigan. One of my favorite schools, University of Chicago, offered me a scholarship, so it looks like that's where I'm headed. If I went, though, we could have hung out!

I'm happy you enjoyed the reception so much I'm sure you'll have a great time at Cornell.

Zoogies, do you know that Cornell is one of just 5 or 6 programs that has a winning record vs Michigan? Not even Notre Dame, Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State or Penn State can make such a claim! hehe

...wait, seriously? o_o

I am serious. You must understand that the Ivies were football powerhouses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Michigan played Cornell 18 times between 1889 and 1952. Cornell leads the series 12-6 (0.666).

You know, just a few months ago, I could've never agreed with this statement. Now, I really do feel that UM is a great place, although I don't think it's for everybody. Thanks for converting me anyway.

I'd love to see Michigan and Cornell play again. It would be great to see them absolutely beat up a rag-tag bunch of cornell kids.

Michigan should schedule Ivies for non-conference games now so that we can all laugh at them.

No it wouldn't. I have no idea what you are talking about. UM should play more of teh likes of Texas, USC, Cal, and UF.

I just feel sorry for Case, wherever that is. I mean, what school plays another for 26 straight years when the combined score of the games was 839-38? That's persistence if I've ever heard of it. It's like a wise man once said: "Quitters never win, and winners never quit, but those who never win and never quit are idiots."
