Everyone Who Took Sat 1 In October-i Think Cb Made A Mistake With Writing Score...

FOR THE OCTOBER SAT I WRITING -for the total number of questions on the Writing Section CollegeBoard has> Total Number of Questions: 48 , BUT the total is supposed to be "49". The March and June tests both have "49" as the total number of questions. In the Blue Book on ALL the tests there are "49" Total Number of Questions. I think CollegeBoard made a mistake, similar to the mistake it made on the SAT II Chem test, which raised the scores for most people who took SAT II Chem. This will has a positive effect for most (I think ALL) the scores.
What should I do,.. call CollegeBoard?

Is there anyone who took the OCT. SAT 1. What is the Total number of writing questions that you have?

Hey, you're right.

It says:
Total Number of Questions: 48

Good catch. I think you should call CB.

hmm, it does say 48 on mine too. I can't remember if there were 48 questions, though...
It might not be a bad idea to call

o wow ur right, i took it in october too. U think it should boost all the scores?

Hopefully they do boost the scores. As IvyLeague99 already pointed out, that's what they did with Chem.

BTW, did anyone order the score report?

Yeah, it would boost our scores---that'd be awesome if they really did make a mistake!

I didn't take the test, but it could be that they made a mistake, or that they found a mistake on the test and didn't score that question (which CB has done in the past). Calling CB to see what happened is a good idea.

wait how would this boost our scores? what if we got the question wrong.. then it would actually lower the scores.

so, did u call?

Well, we can assume we got the same number of questions wrong as it says on the score report but they just took it out of 48 instead of 49, so it would boost our scores.

Wait -- I don't understand !

ooh I says on my score report: 46 right / 2 wrong / 0 omitted / total # of questions = 48 / MC Raw Score = 46 which is 770..ur saying it's REALLY out of 49 so that would mean I got 47 instead ?!?

So, for example, if you missed 2, then they calculated your score like this:
48-2-2/4=46, when it should be 49-2-2/4=47

Apparently CB found one of its questions to be ambiguous or something, and eliminated it. So replacing the question would likely lower 99% of people's scores anyway, because they wouldn't eliminate a question a lot of people got right.

Assuming they didn't just throw a question out

oh, wait so they did throw one out..

FlipstA -- how do u know this

Guys chill out...they just threw out one question.

someone please don't post about how someone needs to call....

Maybe they threw it out, maybe they didn't.

We won't know until someone calls.
