hey,
for anyone on CC who took the sat II literature, which books did you guys find to be the best?

another bump .. ?

I'm wondering the same, are the Princeton Review ones any good or perhaps Kaplan? Collegeboard doesn't have a specific Literature prep book.

help guys? bumppp

Of all the tests in the world, some say this one's hardest to prepare for but I'll help you bump your thread, b/c I want to know the answer!

Hey guys, I got an 800 on this exam. I didn't use a prep book because I felt the English classes at my school were sufficient.
You guys might want to try these sample questions from college board to see the sort of questions that they ask:

I don't know if a prep book would be very useful for this particular subject test. As college board says,

"The best way to prepare for the test is through close critical reading of English and American literature from a variety of historical periods and in a variety of genres. The more skilled you become at understanding and analyzing literary texts, the better prepared you will be."

If you are good at critically analyzing literature (poetry of all time periods, books, etc.) you should ace this test. I'm pretty sure literary analysis is the bulk of every high school English class everywhere...so just pay attention in class and you should be fine. If the prospect of analyzing a pastoral poem, explicating a Shakespearean sonnet, or identifying tone in a personal essay frightens you, stay away :)

If you really want a prep book, go ahead and buy a prep book for the AP English Literature--it's pretty similar material.
