Exceed summer units?

i took 8 last summer and it was pretty taxing for me: physics and an english comp.

Lol no one’s hating on the OP at the moment. Anyways, you guys should state what sessions the classes were in, otherwise it doesn’t really mean much.

I’m taking 2 courses in Session A (late May- early July), and 2 courses in a later session (early July - mid-August), for a grand total of 14 units this summer >_>

I took 9 units as a transfer during Summer 2010 before I came here, and got straight A’s. Depends on the courses. Like of course for math and sciences classes will be extra taxing during the summer.

I’m taking 8 units from 5th July to 12th August and possibly 10 from 23rd May to 1st July in summer 2011. I took 20 units in Fall 2010 (my first semester at Cal) all for letter grades and I’m taking 23 units this semester, out of which 19 are for a letter grade. I wouldn’t say I aced my Fall semester but I survived and was heavily involved in a co-curricular activity without much problems. So yes, I think it’s possible. It’s definitely, definitely taxing and hard, but possible.

As for those who think we’re bragging - try paying $17,000 worth of fees each semester and tell me you don’t want to try and graduate early for the sake of your poor parents. If I had more money, I would be enjoying my life at Cal and taking it slow, thank you very much.

Since I’m also exceeding the number of recommended units for summer, I’m very interested in the OP(oster)'s question in the OP(ost) on how I can sign up for that. I’ve emailed the TeleBears team but they asked me to go see a college advisor, and from what I’ve heard, college advisors don’t usually deal with such requests and they don’t know either. I really need help so I can sign up for these courses asap, and I’m sure meakame does too. Thanks so much.
