Excess Mailing?

Yeah, "likely" candidates can still be rejected, but from what I understand it's rare.

Just don't do anything stupid involving drugs or alcohol (a kid from my school got his Dartmouth scholarship revoked for something like that in the last week of school 2 years ago) and don't suddenly start failing classes.

I doubt that overall many "likelys" will be rejected. Maybe 1 or 2.

this doesn't really answer aliasaholic's question, but when a wellesley student called me today, she said "congratulations on your accept--i mean, likely evaluation."

i thought it was pretty funny, at least, since the college is so gung-ho in its recruitment (what with all the letters and calls) but is still very unwilling to use any specific "acceptance" lingo.

lol, yeah that is pretty funny. :-)

If you don't mind me asking, what else did you and the student talk about? Is there anything that you can dish about the school that we all don't already know?

Got my poster and another letter in the mail today!

Wellesley makes checking the mail much more exciting than usual.

im sad..i havent got anything from wellesley except for a postcard saying my application has been received but i guess thats bcoz im an international student living 10000 miles away. nevertheless they did send me some extra froms to fill from a swimming coach and some email too. three students from my school are attending wellesley from last year...i hope they take me too...

I finally got my poster and hand-written letter today too! Jeeze, I was starting to feel a little left out, haha. But I agree, Wellesley does make checking the mail a lot of fun.

Yeah, the 10000 mile distance might have something to do with it, but no worries stsheikh. Did you apply EE or RD? Where are you from? Is Wellesley your first choice?

rovee:

i was not able to get the phone when she called, so she left basic information about how she was happy about my likely evaluation and gave me the admission office's number so i could call with any questions.

have you gotten your poster? :( i seem to have gotten everything except the poster...

Oh, I see, so she got the machine? I wasn't home when she called my house so she left a message w/ my dad and basically told me the same stuff she told you.

I finally got the poster today! I was really starting to feel left out (haha), but I came home from school and saw the tube on the couch, and then I got semi-excited since all of you girls who've already received the poster kind of ruined the element of surprise. :-)

Now its up in my room, but the window sort of creeps me out because my overactive imagination keeps thinking that some person is going to appear at the window. (Agh, I'm such a nerd, but this is all due to some Filipino horror movie I was forced to watch last night!)

Anyways, I live in Washington so it makes sense that I received my poster later than everyone else. Where do you live?

So far I've gotten 9 letters in the mail from Wellesley. Each day brings another batch of propaganda.

The attention is nice, though. Handwritten letters from admissions officers, letters from students, letters from alumnae. And YES, that humongous poster was sent my way too.

Kind of funny. On Sunday, the only day that mail isn't delivered, I get my second personal phone call. And today I finally got the course catalogue. It just doesn't let up.

I really do like the concept of a Wellesley sisterhood, however.
